Sri Lankan New Year Celebration & Blessing Service

According to the traditional astrology, we move into a new cycle of the sun in April, when the sun (earth) moves from the Zodiac of Pisces to the Zodiac of Aries in its journey across the twelve segments of the sky. It marks the arrival of Sri Lankan New Year.

This is a time to welcome spring and rejuvenate ourselves by strengthening our relationships with nature and one another.
Please plan to attend this traditional ceremony with your children.

The highlights of the event will be sharing Sri Lankan traditional food,
asking forgiveness from each other through exchange of betel leaves,
blessing chants by monks, anointing of herbal oils.
