Dear Bhante, What do the colors of the robes that you wear represent? Thank you.
Buddhist monks wear robes of different colors. In Theravada tradition, the color of the robe can be between yellow to dark brown. This is the color we would get when you use traditional method of dying with barks, leaves and roots of different trees. These are also fall colors. When leaves are about to drop, they takes these colors. Therefore, these colors were associated with the idea of renunciation. Robes of these colors can be a constant reminder of renunciation and letting go. Bhante Pemaratana#1
